As you’ve probably heard by now, Aaron has a new book out! It’s titled “One and Fun: A Behind the Scenes Look at John Calipari and the 2010 Kentucky Wildcats” and it will be available on Amazon within the next week. For details, excerpts and everything else, you need to visit KentuckyBasketballBook.com. Anyway to help […]
Earlier this week, Aaron joined the “No 2 Minute Warning” podcast to discuss his article on Maurice Clarett. Do young players even remember Clarett? What impact do his speeches have? And what’s next for Clarett? Then, Aaron and host Kevin McGuire discussed the season ahead, including why Jim Harbaugh might not be getting enough coverage entering his […]
Maurice Clarett has been in the news a lot lately, thanks to his new-found speaking career, which included a stop he made last week at Florida State. But before any of the news about his visit to Florida State came out, I did an in-depth piece on Clarett for FoxSports.com. Through interviews with Maurice, his […]
The NBA Draft is just a few days away, and on Saturday Aaron joined Kentucky Women Talk Sports to preview the event.
We start with the Minnesota Timberwolves. After trading for the last two first overall picks in Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett, the T-Wolves are on the clock, but while many fans want the team to draft Kentucky’s Karl Anthony Towns, Aaron isn’t so sure. He makes the case for another player.
The conversation continues, as they discuss Towns further and what makes him so special. Aaron thinks that wherever he ends up he’ll be a great fit on and off-the-court. However, he does believe that his skill-set fits better with the Lakers.
Finally they wrap up by discussing several other players — Willie Cauley-Stein, Montrezl Harrell, and Aaron explains why Andrew Harrison just might be the steal of the draft.
Go ahead and make sure and enjoy this podcast. As we know, this is the last major hoops event before the off-season officially hits. That’s right, no more basketball until October (but hey, at least we have soccer. Copa America is underway, and the Gold Cup will start soon. Not to mention that Champions League winner Barcelona will be on the pitch all summer, and good tickets are still available. Be sure to check out Ticketbis.com for the best deals!)
On Thursday, I talked NBA Draft with the guys over on ESPN Radio in Lexington. We discussed who will go No. 1, why this trade could be full of trades, and why two Kentucky players that no one is talking about, could be the future of the NBA. If you like college hoops or NBA […]
Over on FoxSports.com I wrote about the No. 1 ranked player in the world, Rory McIlroy, and the forgotten recruiting story, of how he nearly played golf at a small school in Tennessee. Whether you’re a golf fan or not, this is a fun story, and a chapter of Rory’s life that not many — […]
I did a big-time feature for FoxSports.com on USC football superstar Adoree Jackson. The thing that few people know however, is that football isn’t actually Adoree’s best sport. If everything goes to plan, he could be in the Olympics next year….
Some quick thoughts on Jameis and the whole crab leg picture fiasco. Also shared this on my Facebook page Back in December, I was back in Connecticut, visiting with some friends and drinking some beers when the topic of the NFL Draft came up. My buddies knew I know college football, so they turned to […]
I wrote a little bit on the Ohio State quarterback situation earlier in the week. And I wondered this: While everyone assumes that one of the QB’s has to leave, why can’t anyone comprehend the possibility that all three might stay, and that it just actually might work? It sounds crazy, but what if it […]
After ESPN reported Monday morning that both Texas and Texas A&M are interested in renewing their football rivalry, the first thing I asked myself is: “Why?” What exactly does Texas A&M have to gain by playing this game? Times have changed, and Texas is no longer the premiere program in the state — Texas A&M […]
